To connect Google Business Profile, sign in to Schedule For You, open the Accounts screen in your workspace, choose Google Business Profile, sign in with the Google account that manages your business, grant permission, and pick the locations you want to post to. You need to be an owner or manager of a verified Business Profile for the connection to work.

Once connected, you can schedule Google posts, such as updates, offers and events where supported, from the same calendar as your social media posts. This guide covers requirements, the steps, what you can publish and how to fix common problems.

## Requirements at a glance

| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| A verified Business Profile | Unverified profiles can't publish posts |
| Owner or manager role | Set in Google Business Profile's people and access settings |
| The right Google account | The account that holds the owner or manager role |
| A Schedule For You workspace | Each connected location counts as one connected account |

### Why verification matters

Google only lets verified businesses publish posts, whether you post directly or through a tool. If your profile shows as unverified or pending verification, finish that process first. Google's help center at [support.google.com/business](https://support.google.com/business) explains the verification options for your type of business.

### Owner or manager access

Business Profiles have roles: primary owner, owner and manager. Owners and managers can create posts. If someone else set up the profile, ask them to add your Google account as a manager or owner. They can do this from the profile's settings under the section for people and access. Accept the invitation before you try to connect.

## How to connect Google Business Profile

1. **Sign in to Schedule For You.** Go to the [sign-in page](https://scheduleforyou.com/login). New here? [Start your 7-day free trial](https://scheduleforyou.com/signup) first.
2. **Open the right workspace.** If you manage several brands or clients, open the workspace this business belongs to.
3. **Go to the Accounts screen.** This is where you add and manage connected social accounts.
4. **Choose Google Business Profile.** Select it from the list of platforms.
5. **Choose your Google account.** Google's sign-in window opens. Pick the account that is an owner or manager of the Business Profile. If it isn't listed, choose "Use another account" and sign in.
6. **Grant permission.** Google shows what access Schedule For You is requesting, which is the ability to manage your Business Profile so it can publish posts. Review it and allow access.
7. **Pick your locations.** Back in Schedule For You, choose which business locations to connect. If your account manages several locations, select only the ones you want to post to.
8. **Confirm.** Each selected location appears as a connected account, ready to use in the composer and calendar.

Every connected location counts toward your plan's connected-account limit: 15 on the Solo plan and 100 on Studio. Posts are unlimited on both. See [pricing](https://scheduleforyou.com/#pricing) for details.

## What you can post to Google Business Profile

Google posts appear on your Business Profile in Google Search and Maps. They're a useful way to share news, promotions and events with people already searching for you.

| Post type | Good for | What to include |
|---|---|---|
| Update | News, tips, new products, opening-hour changes | Short text and an image |
| Offer | Discounts and promotions | A clear title, the offer details and dates |
| Event | Workshops, sales, launches, open days | A title, start and end dates, and a description |

Schedule For You supports these post types as Google and the integration allow; check the composer for the options available when you select a Google Business Profile location. Google's post text limit is 1,500 characters at the time of writing, and the composer's live character-limit check helps you stay within it.

### Tips for Google posts

- **Lead with the useful part.** Only the beginning of your post shows in the preview on Search and Maps.
- **Use a clear photo.** A well-lit image of your product, team or space tends to work better than a text-heavy graphic.
- **Keep it current.** Offers and events have dates, and old updates make a profile look neglected. A steady schedule helps, and repeating posts are handy for recurring events like weekly specials.
- **Follow Google's content policies.** Google reviews posts and can reject ones that break its rules, for example posts with misleading content or restricted products. If a post is rejected, edit it in line with the policy and post again.

If you're also posting to Instagram, Facebook and other networks, you can write one post and tailor the Google version alongside them. Our guide to the [best days to post on social media](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/best-days-to-post-on-social-media) has tips on picking a schedule.

## Troubleshooting

### My profile doesn't appear after connecting

The most likely cause is that you signed in with a Google account that doesn't manage the profile. Check which account holds the owner or manager role in Google Business Profile, then run the connection again and choose that account in the Google sign-in window.

### The profile is listed but posts fail

Check whether the profile is still verified. Profiles can lose verification, for example after major edits to the business name or address, or if Google asks for reverification. Posts can't publish until the profile is verified again. Schedule For You sends a failed-post alert when a post doesn't publish, so you'll know to look.

### I signed in with the wrong Google account

Google's sign-in window may pick the account you're already signed in to in your browser. Run the connection again and choose "Use another account," or use a private browser window so you're prompted to pick an account.

### I manage many locations

If your Google account manages multiple locations, possibly organized into business groups, each one is listed separately. Connect only the locations you'll actively post to, since each counts as a connected account. For agencies, put each client's locations in that client's own workspace to keep queues, approvals and client preview links separate.

### My access was removed or changed

If your owner or manager role was removed, or someone changed the profile's ownership, the connection stops working. Ask the profile's owner to restore your access, accept the invitation, then reconnect from the Accounts screen.

### The connection expired

Google connections can stop working if you change your Google password, revoke access, or Google requires you to sign in again. Reconnect from the Accounts screen and grant permission again. Reschedule any posts that failed in the meantime.

## How to revoke access

To remove a location from Schedule For You, disconnect it in the Accounts screen.

To fully revoke access on Google's side:

1. Go to [myaccount.google.com/permissions](https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) while signed in to the Google account you used.
2. Find Schedule For You in the list of third-party apps and services with access.
3. Open it and remove access.

After revoking, Schedule For You can't publish to any Business Profile locations connected through that Google account until you connect again.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a verified Business Profile?

Yes. Google only allows verified Business Profiles to publish posts. Complete verification in Google Business Profile before connecting.

### Can a manager connect the profile, or only the owner?

Both owners and managers can create posts, so either role can connect the profile. Make sure you've accepted the invitation to the profile with the Google account you use when connecting.

### Can I connect multiple locations?

Yes. After you grant permission, choose each location you want. Each connected location counts as one connected account on your plan.

### What kinds of posts can I schedule?

You can schedule Google posts such as updates, offers and events, as supported by Google and the integration. The composer shows the options available for your connected location.

### Will my posts appear on Google Maps?

Google posts can appear on your Business Profile in both Search and Maps. Exactly where and how they're shown is controlled by Google.

### How do I stop Schedule For You from accessing my profile?

Disconnect the location in the Accounts screen, and remove Schedule For You's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions to fully revoke it.
