Here's how to connect multiple Instagram accounts to Schedule For You: make sure each one is a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page, open the Accounts screen, choose Instagram, log in through Meta and select every account you want to add. You can connect several Instagram accounts in the same workspace, and each one can then have its own posts, or share one post with a caption version for each.

This guide covers the requirements, the exact steps, how plan limits and workspaces work, and what to do when an account doesn't show up.

## Requirements for each Instagram account

Every account you want to connect needs to meet the same conditions. Check them before you start, because one missing link is the most common reason an account doesn't appear.

| Requirement | How to check |
|---|---|
| Business or Creator (professional) account | In the Instagram app, open Settings and look at your account type |
| Linked to a Facebook Page | Check the Page's linked accounts settings or Meta Business Suite |
| You have full control of that Page | Look at the people with access in the Page's settings |
| Logged in to the right Facebook account | The Meta window only shows Pages that login can manage |
| Room on your plan | Solo includes 15 connected accounts, Studio 100 |

### One Page per Instagram account

Each Instagram professional account links to one Facebook Page, so if you manage five brands you'll normally have five Pages, each linked to its own Instagram account. If a brand doesn't have a Page yet, create a simple one for it. It doesn't need to be active; it just has to exist and be linked.

If you're setting up a single account for the first time, our guide on [how to connect Instagram](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/connect-instagram) explains how to switch to a professional account and link a Page in detail.

### Why a personal account won't work

Meta only gives scheduling tools publishing access to professional accounts linked to a Page. Personal accounts can't be connected to any scheduler that uses Instagram's official publishing system. Switching to a professional account is free and takes a minute in the app.

## How to connect multiple Instagram accounts step by step

1. **Sign in and choose the workspace.** If you keep brands or clients separate, open the workspace these accounts belong to.
2. **Open the Accounts screen.** This is where you add and manage connected accounts.
3. **Choose Instagram.** A Meta login window opens.
4. **Log in with Facebook.** Use the Facebook account that has full control of the Pages linked to your Instagram accounts. If you're already logged in, confirm it's the right one.
5. **Select every Page and Instagram account.** Meta asks which Pages and Instagram accounts the app can access. Tick all the ones you plan to schedule for now, not just the first. Anything left unticked won't be available later.
6. **Approve the permissions.** Leave every requested permission turned on. Turning one off can stop posts from publishing.
7. **Choose which accounts to add.** Back in Schedule For You, pick the Instagram accounts to connect to this workspace.
8. **Confirm.** The accounts appear on the Accounts screen and in the composer.

Because you approve all your Pages in one pass, connecting ten accounts takes about as long as connecting one.

### Accounts managed by different Facebook logins

If some accounts sit under another person's Facebook login, such as a client's, the cleanest fix is for the owner to give your Facebook account full control of their Page in Meta Business Suite. You can then select it the next time you run the connection. Avoid asking clients for their passwords.

## Plan limits: how many Instagram accounts can you connect?

There's no separate cap on Instagram accounts. Your plan sets a limit on connected accounts in total, across every platform:

| Plan | Price | Connected accounts | Team members |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $19/month | 15 | No |
| Studio | $59/month | 100 | Yes |

So on Solo you could connect, for example, eight Instagram accounts plus seven accounts on other platforms. Both plans include unlimited posts. See [pricing](https://scheduleforyou.com/pricing) for the full comparison.

## Use separate workspaces for brands and clients

If you manage Instagram for several brands or clients, you can give each its own workspace. A workspace keeps that brand's connected accounts, queue, calendar, approvals and client preview links together, so you don't post a client's content to the wrong account by accident. Each workspace has its own plan and its own account limit, so a client in a separate workspace is billed as a separate subscription. To keep several brands on one plan, connect them in the same workspace.

A practical setup:

- **One workspace per client**, holding their Instagram account plus their other platforms.
- **One workspace for your own brand**, if you also run your own channels.
- **Client preview links** for each workspace, so clients can approve or comment on upcoming posts without creating an account.

If several accounts belong to the same brand, for example regional accounts or a main account and a shop account, keeping them in one workspace makes it easy to send one post to all of them.

## Posting to several Instagram accounts at once

Once accounts are connected, select as many as you need in one post. Each selected account gets the same media, and you can edit the caption separately for each account, so two Instagram accounts don't have to say exactly the same thing. That's useful for a launch announced on several brand accounts at the same time. If the accounts share an audience, give each one its own wording rather than posting identical captions. Our page on [posting to multiple Instagram accounts](https://scheduleforyou.com/post-to-multiple-instagram-accounts) covers this workflow.

## Troubleshooting: an Instagram account doesn't appear

### It's still a personal account

Switch it to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram app, then start the connection again from the Accounts screen.

### It isn't linked to a Facebook Page

Link it to the right Page in the Page's settings or in Meta Business Suite. Menu names change from time to time, so look for "Linked accounts" or "Instagram." Then reconnect.

### You didn't tick it in Meta's dialog

Meta remembers your earlier choices. Run the connection again, choose the option to edit your previous settings, and select the missing Page and Instagram account while keeping the others ticked.

### You're logged in to the wrong Facebook account

The Meta window uses whatever Facebook account your browser is signed in to. Log out of Facebook in that browser, or use a private window, then connect again with the login that manages the Page.

### You don't have full control of the Page

Partial or task-only access isn't enough to grant publishing permissions. Ask someone with full control to upgrade your access, including in Meta Business Suite if the Page belongs to a business portfolio.

### You've reached your plan's limit

If every other check passes, count your connected accounts. Remove accounts you no longer use, or move to Studio for up to 100.

### A connected account stopped posting

Password changes, security checks and removed permissions can end a connection. You'll get a failed-post alert; reconnect from the Accounts screen and retry. See the [session invalid error guide](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/instagram-session-invalid-error) for details.

## Frequently asked questions

### How many Instagram accounts can I connect to Schedule For You?

As many as your plan allows in the workspace: 15 connected accounts on Solo and 100 on Studio, counting every platform. There's no separate Instagram limit.

### Do I need a separate Facebook Page for each Instagram account?

Yes. Each Instagram professional account must be linked to its own Facebook Page to be connected to a scheduler. If a brand has no Page, create a basic one and link it.

### Can I connect multiple Instagram accounts with one Facebook login?

Yes, as long as that Facebook account has full control of each linked Page. Select all of the Pages and Instagram accounts in Meta's dialog during one connection.

### Why is my Instagram account not showing up when I connect?

Usually it's a personal account, it isn't linked to a Facebook Page, it wasn't ticked in Meta's dialog, or you're logged in to the wrong Facebook account. Fix the cause and run the connection again.

### Can I post the same content to several Instagram accounts at once?

Yes. Select each account in one post and they'll all publish it. For accounts that share an audience, edit the caption for each account so followers of both don't see the exact same words twice.
