Scheduled Instagram posts don't appear on your profile until they publish, which is why so many people search for where they went. In the Instagram app they live under **Scheduled content**; in Meta Business Suite they're in **Planner** and **Content → Scheduled**. From either place you can edit the caption, change the time, publish now or delete the post.

This guide covers each tool, then answers the question that comes up most: can you add music to a scheduled post?

## See scheduled posts in the Instagram app

Scheduling in the app is available to professional (Business or Creator) accounts.

1. Open your profile and tap the menu (three lines).
2. Tap **Scheduled content** (in some versions it's inside the professional dashboard).
3. Your scheduled posts and Reels are listed with their dates.

Tap a post to open options: **Reschedule**, **Share now** or **Delete**. To change the caption, open the post and edit it; media can't be swapped, so to change a photo you delete the post and create it again.

## See scheduled posts in Meta Business Suite

1. Go to business.facebook.com and pick the account.
2. Open **Planner** for a calendar view, or **Content** and filter by **Scheduled**.
3. Click a post to edit text or media, change the date, publish now or delete.

Business Suite is the only Meta tool that also lists scheduled Stories.

## Cancel a scheduled Instagram post

Delete it from Scheduled content or from Business Suite. If you just want to hold it, Business Suite can move it to drafts; the app can't, so copy the caption first.

## Can you add music to a scheduled Instagram post?

It depends on where you schedule:

- **Instagram app:** when you schedule a Reel in the app, you add music in the editor before scheduling, the same as a live Reel. Feed photos and carousels can get music the same way.
- **Meta Business Suite:** at the time of writing, Business Suite doesn't add Instagram's licensed music to scheduled posts. Add a licensed track to the video in an editor first, or schedule in the app.
- **Third-party schedulers:** Instagram's API doesn't expose the music library, so no scheduler can attach a track from it. Upload a video that already has audio.

Instagram's licensing rules for business accounts are stricter than for personal ones, so a track available in a personal account may not appear for yours.

## Managing scheduled posts across platforms

If Instagram is one of several places you post, a scheduler keeps every scheduled post, for every platform, in one queue and calendar. In Schedule For You you can open any scheduled post to edit its caption, swap media from the library, change the time by dragging it on the calendar, or delete it, and the same post can carry a different caption for X, LinkedIn or Threads. Our guide to [how to schedule Instagram posts](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/how-to-schedule-instagram-posts) compares the app, Business Suite and a scheduler side by side.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I see my scheduled posts on Instagram?
Open your profile menu and tap **Scheduled content**. If you scheduled in Meta Business Suite, look under **Planner** or **Content → Scheduled** there instead.

### Can I edit the caption of a scheduled Instagram post?
Yes, in both the app and Business Suite. Media can only be changed in Business Suite; in the app you delete and recreate the post.

### Can you schedule posts with music on Instagram?
Yes, in the Instagram app by adding the track before scheduling. Business Suite and third-party tools can't attach Instagram's music library, so use a video that already has its audio.

### Why did my scheduled post disappear?
It either published (check your profile) or was deleted. Instagram also drops scheduled posts if the account type changes from professional back to personal.
