TikTok never tells you when someone blocks you. The clearest sign is that their profile shows **"Account not found"** (or "Couldn't find this account") for you, while it loads normally when you search for it from a different account or while logged out. If it's missing everywhere, the account was more likely deleted, banned or renamed.

## Signs someone blocked you on TikTok

| What you notice | Blocked? |
| --- | --- |
| Their profile shows "Account not found" for you only | Very likely |
| You can't find them in search, but a friend can | Very likely |
| Your old chat with them won't let you send messages | Likely |
| Their comments and videos disappeared from your feed | Possibly |
| You're no longer following each other | Possibly (blocking removes the follow both ways) |
| You can still see their profile but no videos | Probably not: they may be private, or have no public videos |

No single sign proves it on its own, because a glitch or a slow connection can cause the same message. Try a couple of checks before you decide.

## How to check if you're blocked on TikTok

1. **Search their exact username** in the app. Use the @handle, not their display name.
2. **Open an old link or chat** to their profile. If you're blocked, it won't load for you.
3. **Check from another account or logged out.** Ask a friend to search, use a second account, or open tiktok.com/@username in a private browser window. If the profile loads there and not for you, you've been blocked.
4. **Look at your following list.** If they used to be there and aren't now, and you didn't unfollow, a block is one explanation.

Don't use third-party "who blocked me" apps. TikTok doesn't share block lists with anyone, so those apps can't know, and many of them ask you to sign in with your TikTok password.

## What does "Account not found" mean on TikTok?

"Account not found" means TikTok can't show you that profile. A block is one reason, but there are others:

- **They blocked you.** The profile is hidden from your account only.
- **They changed their username.** Old links and searches for the old @handle stop working. Search for their display name or ask a mutual friend.
- **They deleted or deactivated the account.** A deactivated or deleting account disappears for everyone, and can come back if they log in within 30 days.
- **TikTok banned or suspended the account.** It disappears for everyone.
- **A temporary error.** Restart the app or check whether [TikTok is down](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/is-tiktok-down).

The test is always the same: if the profile is missing for everyone, it's not about you.

## What to do if someone blocked you

Not much, and that's the point of blocking. Don't make new accounts to get around it: that can break TikTok's rules on harassment and get your own account restricted. If you think it was a mistake, reach out somewhere else you're already in touch, and otherwise move on.

If you're a creator worried that you've been hidden by TikTok rather than by a person, that's a different problem. ## Frequently asked questions

### Can you see who blocked you on TikTok?
No. TikTok doesn't show a list of people who blocked you, and no app can see one either. You can only work it out profile by profile.

### Does "Account not found" always mean blocked?
No. It also appears when an account is deleted, banned or renamed. If the profile is missing from every account you check, you weren't blocked.

### Can I still see someone's TikTok if they blocked me?
Not while signed in to the blocked account. Their public videos may still be visible logged out, but trying to get around a block can count as harassment.

### Do my messages disappear when someone blocks me?
The old chat may stay in your inbox, but you can't send new messages to them while the block is in place.
