Category: TikTok.

To repost on TikTok, open the video, tap the **Share** arrow on the right, and tap **Repost** (a yellow circular-arrows icon). That's it: the video is shared with your followers, who may see it in their feeds with a "You reposted" or "[name] reposted" label, and it's saved to the **Reposts** tab on your profile. The original creator keeps the views and credit. You can add a short comment to the repost in the box that appears.

If there's no Repost button, the creator has turned reposts off for that video, the account is private, or your app hasn't got the feature yet.

## How to repost a TikTok video, step by step

1. Find the video in your For You feed, Following feed or a profile.
2. Tap the **Share** arrow on the right side.
3. Tap **Repost** at the top of the share sheet.
4. Optional: tap **Add thoughts** (or the comment box that appears) to say why you're sharing it.

To undo it, tap Share again and choose **Remove repost**. Our guide to [removing reposts on TikTok](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/how-to-remove-reposts-on-tiktok) covers removing them in bulk.

## What does "reposted" mean on TikTok?

When you see "[name] reposted" above a video, someone you follow (or are connected to) shared that video with their followers. It isn't their video; it's a share that points to the original creator. Reposts:

- Don't copy the video to the reposter's grid. They appear in a separate Reposts tab.
- Give the views and engagement to the original creator.
- Can be seen by the reposter's followers, and in some cases by friends who see "reposted" in their feed.

## Why can't I repost on TikTok?

| Cause | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| The creator turned off reposts for the video | Nothing; share the link instead |
| The video is from a private account | Only the account's own followers can watch, and reposting isn't offered |
| It's your own video | You can't repost yourself; pin it to your profile instead |
| The video is restricted by age, region or review | It can't be reposted while restricted |
| Old app version or a rollout that hasn't reached you | Update TikTok, then log out and back in |
| VPN or a poor connection | Turn off the VPN and retry on another network |

If the button disappears for every video, reinstalling the app usually brings it back. If it's missing on one creator's videos only, that's their setting.

## How to repost your own content

TikTok doesn't let you repost your own video. Options instead:

- **Pin it** to the top of your profile from the video's **...** menu.
- **Stitch or duet it** to add a follow-up.
- **Post it again** as a new video if it's been a while, with a new hook or caption, though duplicate uploads can be held back from recommendations if they look like spam.
- **Share it to other platforms.** Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts take the same vertical video.

Schedule For You makes the last option easy: upload the finished video once, select TikTok, Reels and Shorts, adjust each caption, and set a time for each. It publishes your own videos; it doesn't repost other people's TikToks.

## Can people see what you repost on TikTok?

Yes. Reposts are visible to your followers and appear in your profile's Reposts tab. Making your account private limits them to approved followers. If you don't want someone to see a repost, remove it.
