TikTok has no button that exports a draft straight to your camera roll. The reliable way is to post the draft privately: open it, tap **Next**, set **Who can watch this video** to **Only me**, turn on **Save to device** under **More options**, then tap **Post**. The finished video is saved to your camera roll, and on TikTok it sits in your private videos where nobody else can see it. You can delete the private post afterward and keep the file.

Here's that method step by step, two alternatives, and how to delete drafts and keep them private.

## Method 1: post as Only me with Save to device (best quality)

1. Go to **Profile** and tap the **Drafts** folder.
2. Open the draft and tap **Next**.
3. Tap **Who can watch this video** and choose **Only me**.
4. Open **More options** (or **Advanced settings**) and turn on **Save to device**.
5. Tap **Post**.
6. Check your camera roll (Photos on iPhone, Gallery on Android). The full edit, with effects, text and sound, is there.

The video now shows in your profile's private tab (the lock icon). Leave it, or delete it once you've confirmed the file is saved. Deleting the post doesn't remove the copy on your phone.

Note: some licensed music may not save with the video. If the saved file is silent or the option is greyed out, swap to a sound from the Commercial Music Library or an original sound.

## Method 2: save from your private videos

If you already posted a draft as Only me without saving it:

1. Go to **Profile** and tap the **lock icon** tab.
2. Open the video and tap **...** (or the Share arrow).
3. Tap **Save video**.

This copy may carry the TikTok watermark; Method 1 usually avoids it.

## Method 3: screen-record the preview

Open the draft, start your phone's screen recording, and play the preview. It's quick but lower quality, includes the on-screen buttons unless you crop, and isn't worth it for anything you plan to post elsewhere.

## How to download TikTok drafts in bulk

There's no bulk option. TikTok drafts are stored in the app on your phone, not in your account, so they don't appear in **Download your data** and don't sync to another phone. To back up many drafts, repeat Method 1 for each one, starting with the ones you'd most hate to lose. Our guide on [how to see TikTok drafts](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/how-to-see-tiktok-drafts) explains why drafts disappear after a reinstall or new phone and how to prevent it.

## How to delete drafts on TikTok

1. Open **Profile** > **Drafts**.
2. Tap **Select** in the top corner.
3. Tick the drafts you want to remove (or **Select all**).
4. Tap **Delete** and confirm.

Deleted drafts are gone for good; there's no recently deleted folder for drafts. Save anything you might want first.

## Can people see your drafts on TikTok?

No. Drafts are visible only to you, on the phone where you made them. They don't show on your public profile, other people can't see the Drafts folder, and followers aren't notified when you save one. The same goes for videos posted as **Only me**: they're private until you change the setting to Everyone or Friends.

## A better home for finished videos

Drafts are fragile because they live on one phone. If you make videos in batches, a safer habit is to export each finished video to your camera roll, then upload it to a scheduler so it's stored off your phone and posts at the right time. Schedule For You publishes finished TikTok videos and photo posts on a schedule, with the privacy set per post (public, friends or only me), and can send the same video to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. TikTok effects and sounds have to be added before you export, since scheduled posts use your finished file.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you save a TikTok draft without posting it?
Not with full quality. Post it as Only me with Save to device turned on, then delete the private post if you like. A screen recording works without posting at all, at lower quality.

### Where do TikTok drafts go when you save them to your camera roll?
Into your phone's main photo library: Recents in Photos on iPhone, or the Gallery or DCIM folder on Android.

### Does posting a draft as Only me notify my followers?
No. Only me posts are private, don't appear in anyone's feed and don't send notifications.

### Why can't I save my TikTok draft to my camera roll?
Usually because of licensed music, missing photo permission for TikTok, or low storage. Check TikTok's photo permission in your phone's settings and try a different sound.
