To schedule a post on Facebook, write the post in Meta Business Suite, choose **Schedule** instead of **Publish**, and pick a date and time. This works for Facebook Pages. Personal profiles can't schedule posts at the time of writing, and neither can Groups unless an admin uses Business Suite for a Page that posts there.

The sections below cover Business Suite step by step, where scheduled posts are kept, how to change or cancel one, and how a scheduler handles the same job when Facebook is one of several places you post.

## Schedule a Facebook post in Meta Business Suite

Meta Business Suite is Meta's free tool for Pages, at business.facebook.com and in its mobile app. Menu names shift between versions, but the flow stays the same:

1. Open Business Suite and pick the Page in the top-left selector.
2. Click **Create post**.
3. Choose where it goes: the Page only, or the Page and a connected Instagram account.
4. Add text, photos, a video or a link. Business Suite builds the link preview automatically.
5. Next to **Publish**, open the arrow and choose **Schedule**.
6. Set the date and time, then confirm **Schedule post**.

Business Suite suggests times when it has enough data on your audience, and lets you schedule up to about 29 days ahead for most post types. Reels and Stories can be scheduled too, though the time window and options differ from feed posts.

## Where scheduled Facebook posts live

Scheduled posts don't show on the Page. They sit in Business Suite under **Planner** (a calendar view) and under **Content → Scheduled**. From either place you can open a post to edit the text or media, move it to another time, publish it now, or delete it.

If you can't find a post you scheduled, check that you're looking at the right Page and that the post wasn't created in the older Creator Studio or in a third-party tool, which keep their own queues.

## Edit, reschedule or cancel a scheduled post

- **Edit:** open the post from Planner or Content, change what you need and save. Edits to media may require re-uploading.
- **Reschedule:** drag it to another day in Planner or change the date in the post editor.
- **Cancel:** delete the post, or change it to a draft if you want to keep the text.

A post that has already published can't be rescheduled; it can only be edited or deleted like any other post.

## Scheduling Facebook posts alongside other platforms

Business Suite covers Facebook and Instagram. If you also post to X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, Pinterest or a Google Business Profile, you end up scheduling the same post in three or four places. A scheduler puts them in one queue.

In Schedule For You you connect your Page through Meta's own login, then:

1. Write the post once and pick the Facebook Page plus any other accounts.
2. Tailor the Facebook version if you want different wording. Edits to one platform's caption never touch the others.
3. Attach up to 10 images or a video.
4. Choose a time, or **Add to queue** to take the next open posting slot.

Scheduled posts appear in the queue and on a drag-and-drop calendar, and a failed post sends you an alert with the reason and a retry. The [Facebook Page scheduler page](https://scheduleforyou.com/facebook) lists exactly what's supported.

## Tips that make scheduled posts perform better

- Schedule to the times your audience is online. Page Insights shows this under **Audience**, and our guide to the [best days to post on social media](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/best-days-to-post-on-social-media) is a starting point.
- Keep link posts and photo posts separate. A photo post with a link in the text gets the photo, not a preview card.
- Write the first line for the feed: Facebook truncates long text behind "See more".
- Leave a gap between a scheduled post and anything you post live, so they don't bury each other.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you schedule a post on a personal Facebook profile?
No. Scheduling is available for Facebook Pages through Meta Business Suite and tools that use Meta's API. A personal profile has no scheduling option at the time of writing.

### How far ahead can you schedule a Facebook post?
Meta Business Suite allows scheduling up to about 29 days ahead for feed posts. Third-party schedulers set their own limits; Schedule For You lets you schedule months ahead.

### Why can't I see my scheduled post on Facebook?
Scheduled posts don't appear on the Page until they publish. Open Meta Business Suite and look under **Planner** or **Content → Scheduled**. If it isn't there, it may have been scheduled from another tool or for a different Page.

### Does scheduling a Facebook post reduce reach?
No. Facebook treats a scheduled post like one published by hand at the same moment. Reach depends on the content and when it goes out, not on how it was submitted.
