To schedule a LinkedIn post, click **Start a post**, write it, then click the **clock icon** next to the Post button, pick a date and time, click **Next** and then **Schedule**. It works on your personal profile and on any company page you manage, in the browser and in the mobile app, up to about three months ahead at the time of writing. It's free and good enough for one person posting to one account. It gets awkward when several people's profiles have to go out around the same launch, or when the same post also goes to X, Bluesky or Threads.

Here's the native method for profiles and pages, where it runs out, and how to schedule several profiles from one calendar.

## How to schedule a post on your LinkedIn profile

On desktop:

1. On your LinkedIn home page, click **Start a post**.
2. Write the post and add any images, video or a document.
3. Click the **clock icon** next to **Post**. On some versions it sits at the bottom of the composer, on others at the top.
4. Choose a date and a time, then click **Next**.
5. Check the preview and click **Schedule**.

In the mobile app the route is the same: tap **Post**, write the post, tap the clock icon, pick the date and time, then tap **Next** and **Schedule**. LinkedIn changes the composer often, so labels and the icon's position may differ slightly in your version.

The post doesn't appear on your profile until it publishes. To check, edit or cancel it later, open the composer again, click the clock icon and choose **View all scheduled posts**. Our guide to [seeing scheduled posts on LinkedIn](https://scheduleforyou.com/blog/how-to-see-scheduled-posts-on-linkedin) covers editing, rescheduling and deleting.

## How to schedule a post on a LinkedIn company page

You need an admin role on the page (super admin or content admin).

1. Open your page's **admin view** (from **For Business** or the page link under your profile picture).
2. Click **Create** or **Start a post** so the composer opens as the page, not as you. The page's logo should show at the top of the composer.
3. Write the post, then click the **clock icon**.
4. Pick a date and time, click **Next**, then **Schedule**.

Page posts and profile posts are scheduled separately. A post scheduled as the page only shows in the page's scheduled list, and other admins of the page can see, reschedule or delete it too.

## What LinkedIn's scheduler can and can't do

| Question | Answer at the time of writing |
| --- | --- |
| How far ahead? | Up to about three months |
| Profile and company page? | Both, each from its own composer |
| Text, images and video? | Yes |
| Polls and document (PDF) posts? | Varies by account and version; check whether the clock icon appears |
| Articles and newsletters? | Not through the post scheduler |
| Several profiles in one place? | No. Each person schedules from their own login |
| Other networks in the same calendar? | No |
| Approval before a post goes out? | No |

## Where the native scheduler gets awkward: a launch week with three profiles

Picture a small company launching a product on Tuesday. The founder posts the announcement from her profile at 8 a.m. Her head of product follows at 11 with the story behind the feature, and the sales lead posts a customer quote on Wednesday. The founder wants to read both teammates' posts before they go out, and the announcement should also go to X and Bluesky.

With LinkedIn's own scheduler:

- **Three logins.** Each person has to schedule their own post while signed in to their own account. Nobody can see the full plan, so two posts can easily land at the same time.
- **No review step.** The founder only sees her teammates' posts once they're live, unless they paste drafts into a chat or a document first.
- **Edits mean chasing people.** If launch moves to Thursday, each person has to open their own scheduled list and reschedule.
- **LinkedIn only.** The X and Bluesky versions need another tool or a third set of reminders.

None of this matters for one person posting once a week. It adds up when a team coordinates around a date.

## Your options compared

| Option | Personal profiles | Company pages | Several people in one view | Other networks | Cost |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| LinkedIn's built-in scheduler | Yes | Yes | No | No | Free |
| Shared spreadsheet + everyone schedules natively | Yes | Yes | Plan only; publishing is still manual | Plan only | Free |
| Schedule For You | Yes, each person connects their own | **No** (use LinkedIn's scheduler for pages) | Yes: queue, calendar, approvals | 10 platforms | From $19/month for 15 accounts |
| Other paid schedulers | Usually | Usually | Usually | Usually | Varies, often per user or per account |

If you mainly post as a company page, LinkedIn's own scheduler or a tool that supports pages is the better fit. Schedule For You publishes to personal profiles only. That's where it fits best: founders, consultants, ghostwriters and teams whose people post from their own names.

## How the launch week works in Schedule For You

**1. Each person connects their own profile once.** Invite your teammates to the workspace from **Settings → Team**. Each one opens **Social accounts**, clicks **Connect LinkedIn** and signs in with their own LinkedIn account, which is how LinkedIn grants access to post. After that, anyone with access to the workspace can schedule to that profile. LinkedIn's sign-in lasts about two months, and owners get an email before it lapses so posts don't fail.

**2. Write each post once, then tailor it.** Open **Create post**, pick the founder's LinkedIn profile plus the company's X and Bluesky accounts, and write the announcement. The composer has a tab for each platform, so the LinkedIn version can run to several paragraphs while the X version stays under 280 characters and Bluesky under 300. The counters under the text show each limit as you type. Attach up to nine images or one video to the LinkedIn version, and put the link in the **first comment**, which publishes right after the post.

**3. Stagger the times and ask for sign-off.** Schedule the founder's post for Tuesday 8:00, the head of product's for 11:00 and the sales lead's for Wednesday. Under **Advanced options**, mark the teammates' posts as needing approval. They wait under **Needs approval** in the queue until the founder approves them, and you can also send a preview link to someone outside the workspace.

**4. See the whole week, and move it in one place.** The calendar shows every person's posts next to the X and Bluesky versions. If launch slips to Thursday, drag each post to the new day instead of messaging three people.

**5. Know it went out.** Turn on reminder emails in **Settings** to get a heads-up before posts go out (an hour before, by default), so someone is around to answer early comments. If LinkedIn rejects a post, it shows under **Failed** with the reason and a retry button.

The [LinkedIn scheduler page](https://scheduleforyou.com/linkedin) lists everything supported. Plans start at $19 a month for 15 connected accounts, with a 7-day free trial; a card is required and you aren't charged until day 8.
