## Who is the most-followed person on TikTok?

Khaby Lame, an Italian-Senegalese creator. He became famous during 2020 for stitching overly complicated hack videos and silently showing the simple way, with his trademark shrug. Because his videos have no spoken words, they work in any language, which helped him build a global audience faster than creators who rely on speech.

## Has anyone ever overtaken Khaby Lame?

Not since mid-2022. Charli D'Amelio led from 2020 until Khaby Lame passed her, and the gap between them has stayed small. MrBeast has been the fastest climber among the top three, helped by cross-promotion from his YouTube channel.

## What the top accounts have in common

- **A repeatable format.** Khaby's shrug, Charli's dances and MrBeast's stunts are instantly recognizable within the first second.
- **No language barrier.** Visual humor and dance travel across countries.
- **Consistency.** All of them posted often during their growth years, and still do.
- **Cross-platform reach.** Each posts the same or similar videos to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, so fans find them everywhere.
