This page has a Unicode font generator that runs in the browser; use the HTML page to run it. The text below is the guide that goes with it.

## Styles you can generate for Facebook

Facebook doesn't let you pick a font for a regular post, but it does display Unicode characters. That's how this Facebook font changer works: type your text once and it shows it in more than 30 look-alike styles; tap any result to copy it, then paste it into Facebook.

### Bold and italic families

Serif bold (𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬), italic (𝐵𝑖𝑔 𝑛𝑒𝑤𝑠), bold italic and four sans-serif variants. These are the most readable options and the ones that look closest to "real" formatting in a Facebook feed. If you only need bold, the [Facebook bold text generator](https://scheduleforyou.com/tools/facebook-bold-text-generator) shows just the bold styles.

### Decorative styles

Script and bold script (𝓑𝓲𝓰 𝓷𝓮𝔀𝓼), gothic and bold gothic (𝕭𝖎𝖌 𝖓𝖊𝖜𝖘), double-struck outline letters (𝔹𝕚𝕘 𝕟𝕖𝕨𝕤), monospace, bubble, black bubble, squared and black squared letters, and fullwidth "vaporwave" spacing.

### Small, flipped and lined text

Small caps, superscript, upside-down text, plus strikethrough, underline and slash-through made with combining marks. A struck-out old price next to a new one is a common use on Facebook shop posts.

### What these characters really are

None of these are fonts. Each style swaps your letters for Unicode look-alikes, mostly from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which is why they survive copy and paste.

## Where styled text works on Facebook

Facebook renders most of these characters on desktop and in the mobile apps. A few places reject or flag them, so it helps to know which is which.

### Posts on your profile or Page

A post can run to 63,206 characters, and a bold first line or a few bold subheadings make a long update easier to scan.

### Comments and replies

Styled text pastes into comments like any other text. Use it to highlight a key answer in a busy thread, such as opening hours, rather than styling whole replies.

### Page intro, Group posts and events

The short intro on a Page, the description of an event and posts inside Groups all accept Unicode styles. Some Groups also offer their own formatting toolbar on desktop; when it's available, use it instead, because that produces real formatting.

### Where to avoid it

Facebook's rules ask that your profile name be the name you use in everyday life, and its Page name standards prohibit symbols and unusual capitalization. Don't put styled characters in either. Facebook may refuse the change or ask you to edit the name. See the official guidance at [facebook.com/help](https://www.facebook.com/help).

## Best practices for styled Facebook text

Unicode styles stand out in a feed, but they can make a post harder to find and harder for some people to read.

### Keep keywords in plain text

Facebook search, and the search engines that index public Pages, treat 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞 and "Sale" as different strings. Keep product names, place names and anything people might search for in regular letters.

### Think about screen readers

Assistive technology may read styled characters one by one, announce them as math symbols, or skip them. Limit styling to a short phrase and never put essential information, like a date or price, only in a decorative style.

### Check on a phone first

Script, bubble and squared styles depend on the reader's installed fonts, and older phones may show empty boxes. Preview a draft on your own phone before publishing to a large Page.

### Pick one style per post

Mixing gothic, bubble and script in one update looks noisy. One style, used for a headline or a key phrase, reads as intentional.

## Use cases

### Small business announcements

A bakery might open a post with "𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 until 4 p.m." and keep the rest plain. A shop can show "$̶4̶0̶ now $25" using the strikethrough style for the old price.

### Community and Group admins

Bold labels such as "Rules" and "This week" make a long Group announcement skimmable.

### Event organizers

A bold date line at the top of an event description gives people the key detail before they scroll.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I change the actual font on Facebook?

No. Facebook uses its own system font for posts, and there's no font changer in its settings. This tool changes your text instead, into Unicode characters that look like other typefaces. Paste them into Facebook and they display as normal text, so these FB fonts show up for everyone who reads the post.

### Why do some styled letters show up as boxes?

The reader's device doesn't have a font that includes that character. Bold and italic styles are widely supported; bubble, squared and some script letters are more likely to fail on older Android phones or desktop browsers.

### Can I use a fancy font in my Facebook name?

It's not a good idea. Facebook requires your profile name to match the name you use in everyday life, and its Page name standards don't allow symbols or unusual styling. Changes that break these rules are often rejected.

### Will styled text hurt my post's reach?

Facebook hasn't said Unicode text is penalized. The real risk is discoverability: people searching for a word won't find it in styled characters.

### Does this tool store what I type?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser, needs no sign-up, and doesn't upload your text to a server.
